Employee Training: Adding Fun and Games to Your Training Program
If training your employees is part of your job, we have just made it easier to add spirit and
enthusiasm to your training programs.
Training Tip
When you add relevant fun and games to your training program, you are actually giving the gift of retention to your employees. People remember what they learn when they have fun doing it.
One such fun activity is to provide “wuzzles” in your participants handouts. This doesn’t mean you are giving your employees a fuzzy stuffed animal to play with or a new sort of candy. Wuzzles are
word puzzles. For example;
————-
Par
2
means “Two under par”.
————-
Another example is:
temp
era
tures
which means “Falling temperatures”.
————-
Here is how to create your own -Wuzzles- that are relevant to your training, so you will have your participants full attention and with that, their retention.
Choose a common phrase that’s connected with your training.
* If the object is a plural, repeat the pluralized word several times.
* See how the words interact. If one object is over, under, before or follows, you can arrange the words or numbers in that order.
* Google the word -wuzzles- to see more examples of how Wuzzles are created.
Obviously, there is a whole lot more to designing a program than just what’s listed above and that is why “Adding Games and Activities to Your Training” is Lesson 6 in our -Designing Training for Fun and Results Self Study Course.
